After months of anxiety, Senator Ahmed Babba Kaita who is representing Katsina North Senatorial District, the senatorial zone of President Mohammadu Buhari, officially announced his defection from the ruling All Progressives Congress to the opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
There has been hushed speculation that Senator Kaita would be leaving the President’s party to the opposition following disaffection and intrigues in the APC.
It was however confirmed on Wednesday that Kaita eventually switched political parties ahead of the 2023 general election.
Kaita was seen at the PDP Secretariat in Katsina on Tuesday as the PDP tried to keep the new twist out of the public glare.
