Buhari, Orji Kalu console the Fawehinmi’s over Mohammed’s death

President Muhammadu Buhari and the Chief Whip of the Senate, Sen. Orji Kalu have consoled the family of late human right lawyer, Gani Fawehinmi (SAN) over the death of the eldest son, Mohammed Fawehinmi.

Late Mohammed Fawehinmi, 52, died on Wednesday in Lagos.

Buhari in his condolence message on Thursday sympathized with Ganiat mother of the deceased, and the entire family, urging them to find comfort in God, who gives and takes, and to draw consolation in the fact that the departed robustly fought a debilitating condition, which confined him to the wheelchair for many years.

President Buhari said: “His body may have been broken, but his spirit was virile, agile, and he kept the flag of the family flying, doing justice to the memory of his late father,” the President says.

The Chief Whip of the Senate, Sen. Orji Kalu, has lamented the death of Mohammed Fawehinmi, the first child of late legal luminary and human rights activist, Chief Gani Fawehinmi.

Kalu, in a condolence message issued on Thursday in Abuja, described late Mohammed as a cerebral lawyer and upright human rights activist.

The former governor of Abia condoled with the government and people of Ondo over the loss.

While praying to God to grant the deceased eternal rest, Kalu urged the Fawehinmi family to be comforted in the remarkable life Mohammed lived.

“The death of the eldest child of late legal luminary, Chief Gani Fawehinmi, Mohammed is shocking and painful.

“The younger Fawehinmi in his life time played noble roles in advancing the cause of the people.

“He was successful in his profession and humanitarian gestures.

“ The deceased left behind good legacies worthy of emulation,” Kalu said.
