President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the release of 12,000 metric tonnes of food items to victims of flooding across the country.

This was confirmed in a statement  on the presidency Twitter handle on Sunday.

According to them, The food item will be distributed through the National Emergency Management Agency(NEMA)  to the communities affected by flood
