The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has congratulated Atalanta of Italy forward and Super Eagles goal poacher, Ademola Lookman for winning the CAF Men’s Player of the Year Award.
Sanwo-Olu also congratulated the Super Falcons goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie for emerging as the Women’s Goal Keeper of the Year.
In a statement he shared on his verified Facebook account late Tuesday, hailed the two footballers for showcasing Nigeria on an international platform.
He said, “Hearty congratulations to Ademola Lookman for being honored as the African Best Player of the Year, to Chiamaka Nnadozie, our Super Falcons goalkeeper, for winning the CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award, and to the Super Falcons for being recognized as the Women’s National Team of the Year.
“These accomplishments make us incredibly proud and reflect the hard work, commitment, and skill of these footballers. I applaud each of them for showcasing our nation on an international platform with such distinction.
“This victory not only acknowledges personal excellence but also shows the vast potential of Nigerian football.”
