Candidates in Ondo sign Peace treaty against elections

In preparation of a violence free election, candidates of the forthcoming Ondo gubernatorial elections were asked to sign a peace accord.

Among those present were incumbent governor of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, his deputy Agboola Ajayi of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Eyitayo Jegede.

At the end of the signing, the candidates were asked to embrace, shake hands or bump elbows as a show of peace but Akeredolu refused to shake hands with his deputy.

Instead, he waved at him after bumping elbows with Jegede.
