Some commercial bus drivers in Lagos have accused the state Parks Management members of extorting, and damaging their buses in the process.
Speaking in an interview with ThisNigeria, a commercial bus driver, who pleaded anonymity, said that the daily levies collected by the management were not being put to good use for the benefit of the drivers.
“When all commercial bus drivers had a meeting with the Chairman of the Management, he claimed that the union members were not instructed to cause damage to buses in the process of collecting the levies,” the driver said.

He stated further that the Union was acting “lawless” because it is a norm in Nigeria.
“The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos has given too much power to the union. That is why we are being oppressed without anything being done about it.
“The solution is to reduce the authority that this Union wields. One cannot win a case against them because they have strong backing,” he lamented.
