CBN Junior Tennis 2025: Ogubanwo, Tersoo stroke on

After the heavy rain that disrupted business activities in Lagos on Tuesday being day one of the 2025 Central Bank of Nigeria Junior Tennis Championship in Lagos, action resumed on Wednesday 30th of April at the National Stadium Surulere, Lagos where the preliminary matches are taking place ahead of Saturday’s grand finale at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, Tafawa Balewa Square, Onikan Lagos.
In some of the matches played on Wednesday 30th April, Mariam Ogubanwo defeated Joy Akpan 10/8, 10/6 in one of the Girls U-16 Category while Adesewa Olaniyan beat Fareeda Adams 10/6, 10/12 and 10/3.
Also victorious was Jimoh Maisara that sent Bisola Amara packing by beating her 10/1, 10/1.
Another victor, Atilola Mofifun stopped Sarah Adisa 9/0 in their rescheduled Girls U-16 game, while Olaniyan Adesewa suffered a 10/7 and 10/8 lost in the hands of Favour James.
Playing in the Boys U14 category, Garuba Taiwo beat Festus Peter 8/10, 10/6, 10/5 to claim victory while Goodluck Tersoo ran home with a 9/0 victory over David Igbinovia as Blue Samuel triumphed 10/1, 10/6 over Daniel Igbinovia.
Sakole Goodluck was also on song by defeating Michael Osagie 10/3, 7/10, 14/12 while Okandeji Mohammed was beaten 10/4, 10/7 by Godwin Akinfumiloye.
Meanwhile, matches will continue on Thursday, May 1st (today) being day three of the championship.
