Beneficiaries of the Federal Government Conditional Cash Transfer Bogoro Local government area of Bauchi state have saved up to 8 million Naira in their Thrift account from January to October this year.
The Coordinator of the Scheme Bogoro LGA Mr. Dinda Tsapta disclosed this to Journalists in Bogoro.
Mr. Dindah Tsapta stated that the purpose of the joint contribution (Adashe) is to assist the beneficiaries live a productive life after graduating from the programme.
He revealed that 785 households from 123 communities are currently benefitting from the scheme while 13 more new communities have been enrolled.
The coordinator stated that the scheme has had a positive impact on many households with many of them now going into small scales businesses and participating in economic activities.
Mr. Tsapta thanked the Executive Chairman Bogoro LGA and the Bauchi state office of the scheme for sustaining the scheme and for their commitment to the welfare of the citizens especially the vulnerable members of the society.
In another development, 527 indigenes of the Bogoro Local Government Area have been enrolled into the N-power C-stream one programme.
The Education Secretary of the Local Government Council Mr. Saul Mamman stated this during a meeting with the executive chairman of Bogoro LGA Hon. Iliya Habila JP.
Mr. Saul Mamman said 257 were for N-Teach, while 40 for N-Health and 23 for N-Agro, and 10 for N-Creative. Twenty 20 persons did not turn for the screening.
He thanked the chairman for supporting the Local Education Authority by providing the enabling environment for the successful completion of the screening exercise.

Mr. Mamman said although the Local Government Education is faced with numerous challenges ranging from lack of enough teaching staff, poor funding, and logistics yet the chairman quickly intervene to save the LEA from imminent collapse.
The Education Secretary assured him that teachers in primary schools and upper basic will not relent in the discharge of their responsibilities.
Responding the Executive Chairman of the council Hon. Iliya Habila said his commitment to lifting up the standard of education and the promotion of staff welfare will never diminish.
Hon. Habila urged the Education Secretary to ensure all those enrolled under the N-Power teachers report to their place of work without any delay.
He, however, warned that if any of the N-Power candidates fails to perform his or her duty appropriately or is found to have secured another job elsewhere action will be taken against the candidate accordingly.
The council chairman assured them that complain arising as lack of funding among other problems will be dealt with as soon as possible.
