Chatham House: Tinubu doesn’t want to run a one man’s show as President – APC women leader

...says giverning Nigeria beyond one man rather on teamwork

By David Lawani, Abuja

The All Progressives Congress, APC, National Women leaser, Dr. Betta Edu has stated that the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu when elected as President of Nigeria will be beyond one man’s show saying every government in the world is run on the threshold of teamwork and this one will not be different because of the quality that he has been assembled.

Edu who made this clarification she appeared on Arise Television program stating that Tinubu’s government will be driven by team work in response to reactions that have continued to trail his outing in Chatham House when he delegated questions threw at him to some of the members of Presidential Campaign Council, PCC.

The women leader noted that the practice of delegating persons to speak to an issue doesn’t take away the fact that Ahmed Bola Tinubu is not competent enough but that as it is the spirit of teamwork, he feels every member of his team should have that sense of contribution because even when he emerges as President he will not be running the government alone.

She said in the US and UK, the system of government there have always been based on team spirit and this is what the APC administration under the presidential candidate intends to achieve when he is elected but strange that some people are not willing to see it that the running of a nation of this populated people is way beyond just an individual.

According to her: ” I think Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was very clear when he took over 25 minutes to state on a global stage his action plans and the implementation for the Africa’s most populated country interms of numbers. He was very clear what he wants to do in various sectors in Nigeria. And this speech lasted for over 20 minutes. Even after the speech and when he was asked questions even after delegating, he will always end by still adding to whatever he anyone had to speak about.

” But I think it was irritating in somewhat way to hear backlash of people saying that he should not have delegated to his team..Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a team player. Nigerians don’t want a one’s show. Nigeria as a country with over 200 million people is beyond one man. He has put together a formidable team to be able to run government and deliver to people the dividends of democracy.

” And that is what he has always done. Lagos State plan that we have come to see, love and appreciate and today, we can say either the fift or the third largest economy in Africa was put together by a team. Not just one man but he was just the leader of the team. He put together the right people that will help in governance. But more importantly I want us to check out from the president of the United States, UK and name it.

” All of them when they go to meetings, they go with their teams and then they can delegate whatever it is that the team has not said enough they add ontop of. And that was exactly what Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu did that day. On every single question he also made his input in addition to what his team members said. But that ability to trust people to delegate and see it beyond one a man is key”, she noted.
