Mr. Emmanuel Olatunji, a priest, has admonished youths and graduates in the country to avoid waiting for white-collar jobs by accepting available job offers.
Olatunji, a Pastor with the Christ Disciples Church, Ilorin, gave the advice in Ilorin on Thursday in an interview with newsmen.
According to him, job selection is the major cause of the high rate of unemployment in the country.
“Graduates in the country are becoming too selective in the choice of job. They discriminate and reject decent offers after leaving school. They prefer white-collar jobs, rather than manage.
” Most graduates want to start big and not ready to start somewhere. That is the reason most Nigerian youths are roaming around the streets. They want big offers to begin with.

“Unemployment is at an alarming rate because we all want to start from NNPC, CBN, and other big companies. Let us learn to appreciate little and start somewhere,” he advised.
The cleric also urged the youths to embrace entrepreneurship skills and as well enroll in skill acquisition programmes.
He also enjoined them to stop waiting for the government to do everything by striving to add value to themselves.
