
The Committee of Pro-Chancellors of Federal Universities (CPC) has appointed Emeritus Prof. Nimi Briggs, who is the Pro-Chancellor of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, as the new CPC Chairman.
The appointment was disclosed in a statement signed by Prof. Yakubu Ochefu Secretary-General, Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (CVCNU), and made available to newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday, after a meeting with its members on Sept. 20.
Ochefu said that Briggs would take over from Prof. Munzali Jubril, Pro-Chancellor of Federal University, Lafia, who had been the Chairman since 2017.
He added that his appointment was for a term of four years.
He said that at the meeting, Alh. Bashir Dalhatu was also appointed the Deputy Chairman of the committee.

According to him, Alhaji Dalhatu is the current Chairman of Council and Pro-Chancellor of Moddibo Adama University, Yola.
He, therefore, wished the two leaders of the committee success as they take over the mantle of leadership.
