Corruption: Army General Mohammed bags seven years in jail

The former Group Managing Director and Executive Vice Chairman of Nigerian Army Properties Limited, Major General U M Mohammed, was on Tuesday, sentenced to seven years imprisonment by a Special Court Martial set up by the Nigerian Army to try him on corruption charges, forgery, abuse of office amongst several others.

Major General Mohammed, who was found guilty on 14 out of the 18 count charges, was also, however discharged and acquitted on the remaining four count charges.

The sentence is subject to the approval of the Nigerian Army Council.
