The chairman of Esan Central local government council, in Edo state, Prof Waziri Idemudia Edokpa, is among 13 Nigerians kidnapped by gunmen in Edo in the last 48-hours.
They were allegedly kidnapped on Thursday and Friday along the Benin-Abuja highway.
The number includes a 400 level Medicine Student at the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Oghogho Christiana.
She was kidnapped along the Highway like the council chairman who is a Professor with the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the same University, on Thursday.
The 11 others are passengers of a popular transport company traveling to Abuja from Benin who were kidnapped on Friday while their driver was killed in the process.
