Air Peace introduces first nonstop Abuja to St Kitts flight

In a significant leap for African aviation, Air Peace has made history by operating the first-ever nonstop flight from Nigeria to St. Kitts & Nevis, deepening air links between West Africa and the Caribbean.

On June 12, 2025, one of the airline’s Boeing 777 aircraft departed from Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport and landed ten hours later at the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport in Basseterre.

The landmark flight—arranged for a Pan-African business conference—marks the first time a Nigerian flight has touched down in St. Kitts & Nevis, creating a new chapter in Nigeria’s global aviation narrative.

This achievement is the latest in a series of transatlantic milestones for Air Peace. In December 2020, the carrier made headlines with the introduction of a direct Lagos–Montego Bay flight, establishing the first nonstop route between Nigeria and Jamaica.

It followed that feat in August 2023 with the introduction of a Lagos–Antigua & Barbuda service, making Air Peace the first Nigerian airline to fly into the twin-island nation.

With this new Abuja–St. Kitts service, Air Peace completes a Caribbean trifecta—becoming the first Nigerian airline to offer direct access to three sovereign Caribbean nations in under five years.

“This is more than just a flight—it’s a statement,” said Dr Allen Onyema, Chairman and CEO of Air Peace. “It shows that Nigerian aviation is ready to play on the global stage.”

The same Boeing 777 used for this historic route also flies the airline’s daily Lagos–London Gatwick service, which launched on March 30, 2024. Air Peace is also finalising new acquisitions to expand its long-haul network further, with plans to begin services to Houston and New York.

With each bold transatlantic venture, Air Peace continues to solidify its mission of positioning Nigeria as a serious player in international aviation.

From Abuja to Basseterre, Montego Bay to Antigua, the message is clear: Air Peace is not just connecting cities—it’s connecting continents, cultures, and a continent’s ambition.
