
A Kano Sharia Court sitting in Fagge, on Friday, ordered that a 33-year-old trader, Musbahu Aliyu, who pleaded guilty to stealing 10 pieces of “Ankara” be remanded in a Correctional centre.
The defendant, who resides in Yakassai Quarters Kano, pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal trespass and theft.
The Presiding Judge, Dr Bello Khalid, adjourned the matter until Dec.14, for sentencing.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Mr Abdul Wada, informed the court that the defendant committed the offence on Nov.13, at Kantin Kwari market Kano.
He said that about 6:45 p.m., the defendant tresspassed into the shop of Muhammad Saminu, situated at Kantin Kwari Market Kano and stole 10 pieces of “Ankara” worth N36,000.
