Train kidnap victims negotiator, Tukur Mamu arrested in Egypt

Kaduna-based publisher and negotiator between terrorists and the Abuja-Kaduna train kidnap victims, Alhaji Tukur Mamu has been arrested by the Egyptian police.

According to reports, Mamu alongside his family members were arrested in Cairo on Tuesday, September 6th.

However, the reason for his arrest is yet to be known as of the time of filling this report.

Tukur Mamu is the publisher of Desert herald and aide to controversial cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi.

Mamu recently pulled out of negotiations with the abductors of the train victims after securing the release of some of the passengers held captive, citing lack of government’s support, threat to his life and blackmail as some of the reasons for his withdrawal.
