The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has appointed Senator Ibrahim Abdullahi Danbaba as the new Senate Deputy Minority Whip.
Senate President, Ahmad Lawan made the announcement during the plenary on Thursday.
This comes after the defection of the former Deputy Minority Whip, Senator Sahabi Ya’u of Zamfara North, from PDP to the All Progressives Congress.
Danbaba represents Sokoto South Senatorial District of Sokoto State at the 9th National Assembly.

There has been a mass defection of Zamfara PDP lawmakers to the APC.
The state Governor, Bello Matawalle defected to the APC on June 29th, 2021.
