Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has accused Senator David Mark of instigating the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Wike made the accusation during a chat with the media on Friday.
He stated that Mark, who was the chairman of the primary election committee, spearheaded the party crisis by “creating room for some PDP governors to withdraw from the presidential race.”
The governor also accused Mark of working against him during the party’s primary which led to the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as the winner of the election.
“We had all spoken and addressed delegates. But Senator Mark created room for Aminu Tambuwal, the governor of Sokoto State to speak afterwards.
“Governor Tambuwal’s singular privilege to speak and withdraw from the race was against the rule of play.
“Mark did not allow any other person to speak. David Mark gave undue advantage to Atiku. We would have ensured the primary did not hold but for our love for the party ,” Wike revealed
