Davido unveils first UK festival, set to headline London show

Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has announced plans to host his first-ever music festival in the United Kingdom, marking a major step in his expanding global career.
The event, titled “Davido & Friends Festival,” is scheduled to take place on August 14, 2026, at the Crystal Palace Bowl, a historic open-air venue in London with a capacity of about 15,000.
Davido will headline the festival and personally curate the lineup, promising fans a vibrant showcase of Afrobeats alongside other global music influences.
The singer made the announcement via his X (formerly Twitter) page, writing: “For the first time, I present to you, Davido & Friends Festival. It’s going down at Crystal Palace Bowl on August 14th. Sign up for first access.”
In a video accompanying the post, the 33-year-old artiste addressed his London fans directly, saying: “Yo my people of London, it’s your boy Davido… I know you guys have been feeling left out, but guess what — for the first time, I’m bringing Davido & Friends outdoor show. We are taking over the Crystal Palace Bowl on the 14th of August. Get your friends down, as I will be doing the same.”
The announcement quickly sparked excitement among fans and industry observers, many describing the festival as a significant moment for Afrobeats’ continued rise in the UK music scene.
According to organisers, pre-sale tickets will be available from March 26, 2026, at 10 a.m. GMT, while general ticket sales will open the following day at the same time.
The festival is part of the Palace Bowl Presents concert series, an initiative aimed at reviving the iconic venue, which has hosted major international acts since the 1970s. Other performers scheduled in the series include Bastille and The Wombats, who will perform on August 13.
Davido’s announcement comes amid a busy year for the singer, following the global success of his 2023 album Timeless, which produced hits like “Unavailable” and earned international chart recognition.
His ongoing “5ive Alive Tour” across Europe and a scheduled performance at Coachella 2026 further highlight his growing influence on the global music stage.
