Delta gov’s aide dies in fight with hubby, allegedly poisoned

An aide to the Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori on Trade and Export Shimite Winifred Bello is dead.

Reports said Bello died yesterday as a result of alleged domestic violence.

While details of the incident remain sketchy, her death was confirmed by another aide to the governor and human rights activist, Harrison Gwamnishu.
Gwamnishu in a post on Facebook yesterday, mourned his colleague’s passing.

In a different post, a human rights activist, Victor Ojie wrote: “Marriage is not by force oh. It’s better to lose your marriage than to lose your life oh.”
Another user of the social media platform, Oge Okonkwo said Bello’s husband has been arrested by the police following her passing.
The aide to the late Bello, Tameta Sunday, said she was killed by her husband.

Sunday wrote in a post: “It’s very difficult to type RIP boss, knowing fully well that an ugly soul called pastor with a gentle look as a husband cut all the positive plans we had together.”

Meanwhile, Governor Oborevwori has expressed deep sorrow over the sudden and tragic passing of his Special Adviser on Trade and Export, Chief Shimite Love.

The governor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, yesterday in Asaba, extended his heart-felt condolences to the people of Oshimili North Local Government Area, particularly the Ebu community, mourning the loss of a respected politician.

Describing her as an accomplished, intelligent, and charismatic political figure, the Governor praised Chief Love’s commitment and excellence in every public role she held.

“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I mourn the loss of an exceptional professional and elegant politician, who passed away in Asaba on Easter Monday.

Continuing, Oborevwori said: “She served Delta State with distinction, and until her death, and was diligently leading our export initiatives as Special Adviser on Trade and Export.”

The Governor lamented that her demise came at a time her expertise was most needed, noting that her absence would be deeply felt by the government and people of the state.

He offered prayers for the peaceful repose of her soul and urged God to comfort her family.
