The Orodje of Okpe, His Majesty, Orhue 1, Major Gen. Felix Mujakperuo (retd) on Saturday tasked the newly installed Unu-Okpe of Okpe in Okpe kingdom, Delta State, Chief Michael Affe, to be firm and neutral in treating issues within his jurisdiction.
The monarch gave this charge in Orerokpe, headquarters of Okpe Local Government Area of the state, shortly after installing Affe as the Unu-Okpe of Okpe (spokesman and traditional prime minister for the kingdom).
Mujakperuo, who is the Chairman of Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, charged his second in command to be neutral and live above board in handling matters of the kingdom.
He said, “I have hope in you that you will do well in your new capacity. But you should note that you are no longer of the Evwreke ruling house, you are now the Unu-Okpe of Okpe. People will be watching whether your action will be tilted towards the Evwreke ruling house.

“As the Orodje of Okpe, I am not that of the Orhue ruling house, but that of the entire Okpe. So, I need to warn you that you are no longer in Evwreke’s ruling house, you are in the centre and all your actions must reflect that.”
In a brief speech shortly after his installation, Affe promised to initiate policies and programmes that will take the Okpe kingdom to greater heights.
While commending the Orodje of Okpe for his commitment to the development of Okpe, Affe also expressed gratitude to Governor Sherriff Oborevwori for always showing interest in him.
To the Udogun Okpe (council of chiefs) and the rest of the Okpe kingdom, Affe promised that he would not betray the confidence reposed on him.
“I promise to carry out my duties as Unu-Okpe of Okpe Kingdom and will never betray the confidence reposed on me,” said.
