Dialogue with bandit’s best option for insecurity – Group

Conglomeration of Civil society organizations in Dutse have call on federal government to entered into dialogue with the bandits as against confrontational fight as panacea to security challenges confronting the country.
In a statement written and signed by the spokesman Comrade Bashir Taura viewed with concern on the high increase in banditry and kidnappings in major state’s in the federation.
“Honestly the spate of banditry and kidnappings bedeviling our community posed a serious concern in disrupting relevant peace amongst Nigerians, hence we call on the federal government to as a matter of urgency to tackle the situations before it get out of hands.
According to Taura if government in the past could be able to grant amnesty to members of the Niger Deltas, I see no reason why such measures should not be tried with the bandit’s aimed at bringing to an end all security challenges confronting the country.

On allowing Nigerian’s to bear arms for self defence, the congress called on Nigerians to be cautioned due to its sensitiveness of handling of arms.
“For example there is noting wrong for one to acquire arm through legitimate means for self defence for protections, not others who used it to harm the larger society in the wake of kidnapping or banditry”.
Federal government to be vigilant in monitoring the rampant disabused of arms in the hands of the public, stressing all the atrocities we are facing today was as a result of illegal possesion of rampant arm’s in the hands of the public, saying this acts must be checked and controlled.
