Divorce saga: Charly Boy mocks Ooni of Ife

Tobi Adebayo
Nigerian entertainer, Charles Oputa a.k.a Charly Boy has mocked the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Oguwusi Ojaja II over former Queen Naomi Ogunwusi’s divorce announcement.

Recall that Naomi had taken to Instagram on December 24th to announce her separation from the monarch.

The post read in part “I did my best to endure and make it work. Many times, I smiled through the struggle, but I have finally realised I had just one assignment: my son, and when God is done, He is done. He chose Saul to be king, and when He was done, He told the prophet Samuel I have moved on.

“Religion was never an issue between us; please refer to my interview on News Central TV. Instead, His Majesty has a picture he would love the world to see and perceive him as and another one which is his true self.

“Today, I announce the beginning of a new dawn and the close of a chapter. Today, I am a mother to God’s unique gift. I am no longer a slave to my thoughts of perfection. I, at this moment, announce that I shall no longer be referred to as wife to the Ooni of Ife or as Queen of Ile-Ife, but as the Queen of the people and mother of my adorable Prince.”

However, the Palace denied that the King and Queen Naomi were divorced, adding that Ooni had sent her a gift a day before the announcement.

Reacting to the controversy, Charly Boy referred to Ooni’s second marriage to Olori Zainab Otiti which also crashed in 2017.

He shared a picture of himself with the Ooni and wrote: “See dis my fine bobo. How come e says in less than two months, two of your wives just divorce you and ran away from your kingdom?

“To add salt on top of injury, na Instagram them divorce you. True true, all that glitters is not gold. My people, how una see this matter?  How come wives just take off without notice, e good so?”
