DJ Chicken changes Instagram photo to Seyi Tinubu after regaining freedom
Controversial content creator and disc jockey, Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, has stirred reactions online after replacing his Instagram profile picture with that of Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, barely a day after regaining his freedom.
The social media personality also posted Seyi Tinubu’s photograph on his Instagram Stories on Wednesday with the caption, “Hmm ddddy,” alongside videos showing the President’s son at public events.
The posts came less than 24 hours after DJ Chicken publicly expressed appreciation to Seyi Tinubu following his release from the Kirikiri Correctional Centre in Lagos.
Speaking in a video shortly after leaving custody on Tuesday, the content creator thanked the Nigerian government, Seyi Tinubu and President Bola Tinubu for what he described as his freedom.
“I’m back oo, freedom at last. God bless the Nigerian government, God bless Seyi Tinubu, and our president. I love you guys. It is not easy, my fans. People that are free don’t know what God has done for them. Freedom is good,” he said.
DJ Chicken regained his freedom after meeting the bail conditions imposed by a Magistrate Court sitting in Ogba, Lagos State.
His release was also confirmed by human rights activist and publisher of SaharaReporters, Omoyele Sowore, who disclosed on X that the entertainer had reunited with his family and associates.
The TikTok personality was remanded after being arraigned on a three-count charge bordering on alleged cybercrime offences, breach of peace and making threats against Seyi Tinubu.
The charges followed a viral video in which DJ Chicken allegedly declared that President Tinubu would lose the 2027 presidential election and was accused of issuing threats against the President’s son.
He later withdrew the remarks, saying they were intended as a joke to attract public attention and increase engagement on his social media platforms.
Despite the apology, he was prosecuted and granted bail in the sum of N1 million with two sureties in like amount.
The court subsequently adjourned the matter until August 3, 2026, for further proceedings.
