Ahead of Saturday’s governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, a women’s support group under the aegis of Edo Women In Diaspora (EWID) has begun mobilisation of women for the former Minister of Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Agba.
This was contained in a statement by the conveners, Roseline Odiye (Esq), and Dr Mercy Grant, and made available to newsmen in Benin yesterday.
Odiye said the group has taken it as a responsibility to mobilise for the former minister for the state and the people to enjoy good governance if Agba is elected to govern the state.
She appealed to the women and the entire citizenry to avoid the mistakes of the past.
She said the mistake that remains an albatross, was caused largely by the people who remained indifferent on who to govern them.

Odiye called on the people, particularly the women, not to sit on the fence but to come out to decide, without coercion, who their governor would be.
She said, “We, especially the card-carrying members of the APC, must know that the journey begins on Saturday with the primaries.
“We, EIWD, are calling on the people, especially the women to come out en masse to cast our votes to the rightful person to fly the party’s flag.
“This time, we must not be swayed with money or cups of rice to vote against our conscience, we must not be told by few individuals who claim themselves leaders to vote for their preferred candidate.
“This time, we should cast our votes for someone who has shown capacity and has a track record of performance in public office.”
Odiye appealed to the people to entrust their votes with Agba whose public record as a Commissioner and Minister remained an “eye mark and not earmark.”
