Edwin Clark envious of Wike’s political foresight – Chidi Lloyd

…says elder statesman should focus on Niger Delta leaders performing woefully
Rivers State political stalwart, Dr. Chidi Lloyd has pounced on Chief Edwin Clark, a prominent Ijaw leader calling for the arrest of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
Earlier, Clark demanded the arrest of Wike for allegedly threatening to put fire in any state governed by a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governor who interferes in the affairs of Rivers State PDP.
According to Clark, Wike’s statement is an incitement to violence and a threat to democratic processes.
However, Lloyd, a close ally of Wike, replied that the elder statesman is envious of the former Rivers governor, urging him to shift attention to Niger Delta political leaders who have performed below expectation.
Addressing the allegation against Wike, Lloyd stated that Clark’s criticism is rooted in ignorance of the figurative nature of Wike’s statement and further questioned the elder statesman’s credibility.
The Emohua leader added that Clark doesn’t have a say in the PDP because he is not a member of the party.
He also questioned the Ijaw identity of Clark, who he claimed opposed the candidacy of Sim Fubara as the governor of Rivers State during the gubernatorial primaries.
He stressed that Clark’s outburst were motivated by personal gain for financial gains.
Additionally, the politician said Clark and other leaders from the Niger Delta are envious of Wike’s political foresight, arguing that the FCT Minister’s decision to align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 2023 election was a strategic move that has since been validated.
He said, “This was the same thing he did to Jonathan. Why will an old man be investing in the politics of stomach infrastructure. When in 2023 we did our primaries, Clark knocked Fubara and said he was not a true Ijaw man. Facts are sacred.
“He should bother himself with what the governors of the Niger Delta are doing? He should ask Sheriff what he is doing with all the money that he is receiving. He should ask Governor Sim what he is doing and leave Wike alone. Wike is doing his bid.”
