INEC warns Nigerians against fake 2027 election recruitment portal

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has warned Nigerians against a fraudulent online recruitment notice claiming that the commission has commenced the recruitment and training of ad-hoc staff for the 2027 general elections.

INEC issued the warning in a statement posted on its official social media platforms on Monday, saying the recruitment message circulating online did not originate from the commission.

The commission said the message directed prospective applicants to an unauthorised website and urged members of the public not to click on the link, submit personal information, upload documents or make payments through the platform.

“This information is not from INEC,” the commission said, adding that the website being circulated was not an official INEC recruitment portal.

INEC advised Nigerians seeking information on recruitment and preparations for the 2027 elections to rely only on its verified communication channels and official website for authentic announcements.

The commission said it had previously warned the public about fraudulent websites and fake recruitment advertisements being circulated in its name.

It urged members of the public to disregard and refrain from sharing the latest notice, stressing the need to verify the authenticity of online information before clicking on links or providing personal details.
