
The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Rivers State, Ambassador Desmond Akawor has joined well meaning Nigerians to congratulate Muslims across the country on the occasion of the celebration of Eid eL Fitri, marking the end of Ramadan.
Ambassador Akawor, in his message to Muslims, urged them to remain peaceful and law abiding in their interaction with their neighbors even as they celebrate the festival as well as imbibe the lessons learnt during the period.
The State PDP Chairman also thanked Muslims especially those in the state for their support for the Peoples Democratic Party particularly during the just concluded general elections in the country, saying that the victory recorded by the PDP in the state would not have been possible without the support of other ethnic groups resident in the state.

He assured Muslims and other ethnic and religious groups that the party would continue to identify and encourage them to live freely with the rest of the citizens with a view to engender communal peace, understanding and development among the people.
While wishing them well in their celebration, Ambassador Akawor told Muslims to strive at building on the existing cordial and convivial relationship between religious and ethnic groups in the state and promote the growth of sustainable peace and development among the citizens.
