The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, Chris Owolabi, on Monday, appealed to people of the State to remain law-abiding, vigilant and security conscious at all times, especially, during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

Owolabi the command had intensified its confidence-building and crime prevention patrols on major highways, residential areas, worship centers, and resort areas in order to ensure a hitch-free celebration.

The command through the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Ikenga Tochukwu in a statement felicitating with Muslim Faithfuls worldwide especially in the State.

CP Owolabi said, “In order to ensure a secure, peaceful and hitch-free celebration, the Command has intensified confidence-building and crime prevention patrols on major highways, residential areas, places of worship and places of public resort, among others.

“The Command is also collaborating with other Security Agencies and Stakeholders within the State to provide adequate security and safety during and after the festive period.”

He wished the Muslim Community a peaceful and happy Eid-el-Kabir Celebration.

He also urged the Muslims to use the period of the festivity to pray for the peace and security of the State and the nation at large.
