EKEDC staff electrocuted at Osborne Foreshore in Lagos

A member of staff of the Eko Electrical Distribution Company (EKEDC) was on Thursday evening electrocuted at the Osbourne Foreshore Estate, Ikoyi Lagos.

The man was simply identified as Rahman.
ThisNigeria reporter gathered, he was fixing a faulty line on the pole when the electricity was suddenly restored in the area.

The victim would have been saved earlier had there been an immediate response from his colleagues.

Our correspondent learned that his colleagues were confused and could not offer any immediate assistance

After hanging on the pole for close to an hour, the man was finally brought down from the pole but there were no doctors or emergency medical staff to attend to him.

Some EKEDC officials attempted to resuscitate him via mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

As of the time of filing this report, the victim had been rushed to a hospital.

ThisNigeria could not ascertain if the man eventually gave up the ghost.
