Lawmakers of the Ekiti State House of Assembly on Monday impeached its speaker, Gboyega Aribisogan.
Aribisogan was sacked after seventeen out twenty-five lawmakers voted in support of his removal from the state house of assembly.
Following his impeachment, Olubunmi Adelugba was immediately elected as the new speaker of the assembly.
Aribisogan’s impeachment is coming barely a week after he was elected speaker.
