The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Abdul Rasheed Bawa, has been suspended indefinitely from office by
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to allow for proper investigation into his conduct while in office.
Director, Information, office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Willie Bassey, announced the suspension on Wednesday, in a statement in Abuja.

The indefinite suspension, Mr. Bassey, said, followed weighty allegations of abuse of office levelled against the embattled Chairman of the anti-graft agency, Mr. Bawa.
Mr Bawa, he said, has been directed to immediately handover the affairs of his office to the Director, Operations in the Commission, who will oversee the affairs of the Office of the Chairman of the Commission pending the conclusion of the investigation.
