Enoh pays final tribute to late ex-Senate President Joseph Wayas

 

The Minister of State for Industry, Senator John Owan Enoh, on Saturday 30th of November 2024, joined dignitaries, family members, and well-wishers to bid a final farewell to the late Senate President, Dr. Joseph Wayas, at his funeral in Cross River State.

In his tribute, Senator Enoh, described Dr. Wayas as a towering figure in Nigeria’s political history, whose leadership as the Senate President of Nigeria left an indelible mark on the nation’s democratic journey.

“Dr. Wayas was a statesman of exceptional caliber, who dedicated his life to the service of our nation. His contributions to the development of our legislative process and his commitment to the unity of Nigeria will forever be remembered,” the Minister stated.

The Minister extended heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Senate President and prayed for strength and comfort during this time of loss, urging all Nigerians to emulate the exemplary values of leadership, humility, and patriotism that Dr. Wayas embodied.

According to a state signed by Diana Mary Nsan, Special Assistant on Media to the Minister, the funeral service witnessed an outpouring of tributes from leaders across various sectors, celebrating the life and legacy of a man who played a pivotal role in shaping Nigeria’s democracy.
