Enugu passes anti-open grazing bill

Enugu state has passed the bill for a law to ban open grazing and regulate cattle ranching across the state.

The State Assembly passed the bill during the plenary on Thursday after conducting a public hearing.

Speaking after passing the bill, the House Speaker, Rt Hon. Edward Ubosi said that the bill is for peaceful coexistence among residents of the state.

Ubosi stated further that it was not targeted at any group or individual.

Cleric to visit psychiatric hospital over alleged blasphemy

Enugu joins Abia, Ogun, Oyo, Ekiti, Ebonyi, Rivers and Bayelsa states in the Southern part of Nigeria that has implemented the ban on open grazing.

Recall that the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association had said that it will not obey the ban on open grazing, adding that the law was satanic.
