European Super League has away from the clubs involved, been strongly condemned across football and beyond.
Mesut Ozil, Ander Herrera, Bacary Sagna, others who have expressed their displeasure with the new European Super League initiative.
FIFA has also criticised the creation of a new breakaway League: “In our view, and in accordance with our statutes, any football competition, whether national, regional or global, should always reflect the core principles of solidarity, inclusivity, integrity and equitable financial redistribution.”

UEFA also released a joint statement, personally sanctioned by the governing body’s president Aleksander Ceferin, with the FA, Premier League, La Liga, and Serie A, as well as the Spanish and Italian football federations, which blasted the plans.
UEFA stressed that Europe’s top national football governing bodies and leagues will remain united in opposing the “cynical” initiative, and will use all methods available to them, including legal action, to prevent the scheme from being put into practice.
Kids grow up dreaming to win the World Cup and the Champions League – not any Super League. The enjoyment of big games is that they only happen once or twice a year, not every week. Really hard to understand for all football fans out there…⚽💔

If the Super League happens it will be closer to WWE than competitive football. No risk but a staged show. Not far off Kevin De Bruyne’s entrance music playing halfway through United vs City and him running out in a red shirt while Pep jumps around on the bench in pretend shock.

This so called « Superleague » is anything but « Super ». This greedy and callous move would spell disaster for our grassroots, for women’s football, and the wider football community… (1/2)

Plans for a European Super League would be very damaging for football and we support football authorities in taking action.
They would strike at the heart of the domestic game, and will concern fans across the country. (1/2)

This European Super League is really getting me down man. I wasn’t ready to give up football until I was in the grave. Now I literally cannot be bothered. I actually don’t care anymore. @ChelseaFC Please boycott this stupid competition and fight for the sport!

I’m personally just not interested in the Super League concept, it just feels like a glorified pre season tournament with the best teams. It doesn’t have the history of UCL nights or moments of the Premier League.
It has nothing, and it means nothing.

It’s sad that the fans are actually the only victims in this drama. The Super League vs FIFA and UEFA is a battle between greed, power and money. FIFA do NOT care for the football fan. They’re just very scared that all of their revenue will disappear. Look at how fast they acted.

Apr 2031: Owners of Super League clubs not keen on having two teams in Manchester, three in London, so open to moving franchises elsewhere, as in NFL, to cities wanting a team…(ridiculous prospect, or is it?)
