Ex-convict arrested for armed robbery, phone snatching in Abuja

John Jimoh ‘m’ 26years, a member of a three-man and ex-convict who also specializes in phone snatching syndicate were arrested by Police Operatives from the Central Police Division during routine night patrol on Wednesday 19th May 2021 along Ahmadu Bello way, while attempting to attack and rob his vigilant victim.

The suspect according to ASP Yusuf Mariam, Police Public Relations Officer also an ex-convict confessed that his syndicate is responsible for snatching phones of unsuspecting drivers along NNPC-National Mosque junction at night.

ASP Yusuf Mariam said an effort is underway to arrest other members of the syndicate

The FCT Police Command also arrested two suspects for phone snatching and armed robbery, along with Central Area and Lugbe axis.

In another development, Police Operatives from Lugbe arrested one Moses Nwagbara ‘m’ 24years for being in illegal possession of a firearm.

The suspect confessed to terrorizing residents along that axis. Exhibits recovered are: one (1) locally made pistol.

All the suspects will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of the investigation according to ASP Yusuf Mariam.
