Fashola: We intervened in the building of roads in 44 tertiary institutions

Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, has urged universities to channel the data in their confines to guide the government, the private sector and citizens on national development.

During a meeting with the Association of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities on Tuesday, the Minister confirmed that his ministry has intervened in the building of roads in 44 tertiary institutions.

He also expressed regret that while citizens are open in their criticism of the current administration, no university has come forward to talk about the interventions that the government is providing.

He advised the vice-chancellors to be discreet in giving out honorary degrees and only give it to those who are deserving and not those out for political office. He further advised that they could gather professors together to write the Nigerian history that will be taught in schools, as is done in other countries.
