Ondo state prosecution team led by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Sir Charles Titiloye has called the last prosecution witness in the case of murder of Mrs. Funke Olakunrin, the daughter of the Elder Statesman, Pa Reuben Fasoranti.
Mrs Funke Olakunrin was killed along the Ore-Lagos highway in 2019 while in transit to Lagos. Mohammed Shehu Usman and three other men/syndicates were arrested in connection with the killing following an intelligence report of their nefarious kidnapping activities in the southwest geopolitical zone.
They are currently facing trial before Ondo state High Court.
The prosecution team of the case before Ondo state High Court called nine witnesses on behalf of the state and tendered in evidence the confessional statements of some of the suspects to the effect that they were involved in the said kidnapping activity that led to the death of Mrs. Funke Olakunrin.

Also 31 rounds of AK47 ammunition recovered from the defendants were also admitted in evidence.
The Attorney General thereafter closed the case of the state after calling the last witness of the prosecution, Mrs. Asake Esq, a lawyer with the legal aid Council who witnessed the taking of the statements of the four defendants by the Police from the defunct FSARS.
The husband of the deceased, Mr. Olakunrin, and the Medical Doctor/pathologist who conducted the post mortem examination on the deceased were amongst witnesses who have testified in the case.
The driver of the deceased, Mr. Femi Ajayi in his evidence before the Court identified three of the Defendants as part of the gang that kidnapped him and kept him in the bush for Seven days after intercepting the convoy of Mrs. Funke Olakunrin heading towards Lagos from Ore.
