A teacher at Alihami Secondary School in Agbor, Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State lost his life after being flogged by a parent, Nnajiofor Nweke.
It was gathered that the tragic incident happened on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, according to the Delta State Police Command.
The spokesperson of the state Police Command, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident and said that the suspect’s son and some other students of the school had gone to a nearby palm wine shop and allegedly stolen two kegs of palm wine.
The owner of the shop reported the matter to the school authorities, who identified the culprits and punished them by flogging them.

However, the suspect, who was not satisfied with the punishment meted out to his son, stormed the school premises with a cane and started assaulting the teachers. One of the teachers, who could not withstand the attack, collapsed and died on the spot.
The police have arrested the suspect and are investigating the case.”
