FCT Minister, Wike’s friends, associates plan grand celebration for his birthday
Friends and associates of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief Nyesom Wike, are planning a grand celebration to mark his birthday, with activities set to dominate Rivers State, particularly Port Harcourt, on Friday.
According to a group, the NEW Associates, the elaborate party will further reiterate the indisputable political leadership of the immediate past governor in the state amidst the ongoing crisis.
The NEW Associates is a new political movement coined from the first letters of the minister’s names, Nyesom, Ezenwo Wike
Various new groups and movements are expected to parade at different venues to celebrate the former governor’s birth anniversary.
Other groups who are also mobilising for the event alongside the NEW associates are Wikematic Youths, Wikematic Women, and the Rivers Ijaw Progressive Congress (RIPCO).
Disclosing this, the Convener of the New Associates, Senator George Thompson Sekibo, revealed that a torrent of friends and associates of the minister have finalised plans to fly into the country to honour him.
Sekibo also stated that supporters were eagerly anticipating the event.
He added that a public lecture titled, Pragmatic Strides of a Visionary Leader and Contemporary Issues of Society would herald the celebration.
Sekibo remarked, “Despite all efforts of the betrayers, the minister has kept our political family in Rivers intact. He remains the indisputable leader of Rivers politics. He has survived all machinations and, by God’s grace, continues to grow stronger.
“He has survived all the machinations of the devil and our leader by the grace of God continues to wax strong. We are calling on the numerous supporters of our leader to attend the event”.
