It was reported that the black box from the helicopter that crashed on Salvation Road in Opebi has been recovered. However, the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) Nigeria has debunked the claim.
AIB states that investigations are underway as they are trying to gather evidence, but it is imperative to inform the public that the helicopter had no black box. The black box or Flight Data Recorder (FDR), was not installed on the helicopter because it had five seats. The black box is only installed on aircrafts with ten seats.
The black box would have gone a long way to help with the investigations, but the AIB is certain that they can uncover what went wrong.
