FG Approves Rehabiliation Of Gumel-Maigatari- Niger Border Road

The Federal government has approved contracts for the rehabilitation of Gumel-Maigatari-Niger Republic border road at a cost of over thirty three million naira.
A statement signed by the Executive Director of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) Engineer Silos Buba said the project was awarded to an indigenous firm Austin and Duo Global services and to be supervised by the agency.
He said the project was expected to be completed in six months duration, commencing from 19 of this month to April 18th 2021.
Engineer Silos Buba said the project was sourced through the initiation of Senator Danladi Abdullahi Sankara, representing Jigawa North West Senatorial District in the Senate.
When completed, the Gumel-Maigatari- Niger boarder federal road will boost communication link, as well enhance the sicio- economic potentialities of pedestrian especially the merchant’s who for quite often complained bitterly about the sorrow state of the federal link.
Abandoned for two decades, the Gumel- Maigatari down to Niger Border was among federal roads in Jigawa state that suffered neglect for some years.
