FG bans Emirates Airline

Emirates Airline has been barred by the Federal government from carrying out any further flight operations in Nigeria.
This is in line with the Federal Government’s decision to ban airlines from countries that had banned flights from Nigeria.
The following are airlines that had been previously banned from operating in Nigeria, even before international flights resumed: KLM, Etihad, Lufthansa, RwandAir, Air Namibia, Air France, TAAG Angola Airlines and Royal Air Maroc. With this new imposition, Emirates Airline has been added to the list.
Hadi Sirika, Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation, said in a tweet that, “The PTF sub-committee met today with EU Ambassadors to discuss Lufthansa, Air France/KLM ban. The meeting progressed well.”
Emirates Airlines’ situation was reviewed and they are consequently included in the list of those not approved, with effect from Monday, September 21, 2020.’
