FG calls for more investment in clean energy

The Federal Government has called for more investment in clean energy to safeguard the planet and the future of humanity.

It added that more investment in the sector will help curtail the environmental challenges caused by the use of fossil fuels.


The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ambassador Zubairu Dada said this at the First Nigeria -Africa Natural Resources and Energy Investment Summit organized by the Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development in Abuja.

He described the summit as a demonstration of the commitment of Nigeria to boosting Investment in the Energy, Mines, and Steel sectors.

He said as the world is moving away from fossil fuels many African countries whose future relied on this must find a way of having an alternative means of solving their energy challenges.

The Minister while welcoming participants from all over Africa and beyond to the summit said President Muhammadu Buhari’s led Federal Government has Invested heavenly in the sector with 600 million dollars commitment to Solar Energy.

Special Assistant Media, to Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mallam Ibrahim Aliyu in a statement said the theme of the conference is”Towards a Greener Africa”.
