The Federal Government has celebrated Nigerian former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Ignatius Chukuemeka Olisemeka as he commemorates his 90 birthday anniversary celebration.
Describing him as a quintessential Nigerian Diplomat, FG said that Ambassador Olisemeka did not only serve the country meritoriously as Minister of Foreign Affairs; but also as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain, Washington DC, and Israel, as well as Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Canada, among others.
Spokesperson, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Francisca Omayuli who poured encomium on him in a statement, also prayed for his long life.
According to the statement, “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to convey hearty congratulations to Ambassador Ignatius Chukuemeka Olisemeka on the occasion of his 90th birthday celebration.
“Ambassador Olisemeka was a quintessential Nigerian Diplomat, who served the country meritoriously in various capacities, including being a one-time Minister of Foreign Affairs; Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain, Washington DC, and Israel as well as Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Canada, among others.
“As a seasoned Diplomat, Ambassador Olisemeka’s attributes of hard work, integrity, discipline, and patriotism made him leave enduring legacies in the Nigerian diplomatic service. His contributions to the overall well-being of Nigeria, both as a technocrat and an elder statesman cannot be overstated.
She concluded that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes Ambassador Olisaemeka a very happy birthday and many more years ahead.
