Five commissioners, other eight quit Fubara’s cabinet

A total of five commissioners and eight other officials have quit the cabinet of Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

ThisNigeria reports that the Commissioners include: Commissioner for Special Projects, Emeka Woke and the Commissioner for Social Welfare and Rehabilitation, Mrs Inime Aguma.

Others include the Commissioner for Finance, Issac Kamalu;, Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Prof Zacchaeus Adangor; and the Commissioner for Works, George-Kelly Alabo.

Their resignations may not be unconnected to the political crisis rocking Rivers State.

Recall that 27 Rivers State Assembly members also defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

However, the governor presented the state 2024 N800bn Appropriation Bill to only four lawmakers led by factional speaker, Edison Ehie.
