Northern Governors, Tinubu, Others Donate Over N1b for Islamic University

Northern Governors, comprising  Katsina, Kano, Jigawa, Sokoto, and Kebbi have pledged N250m at N5m each, APC Leaders, Lawmakers, Tinubu, N10m,Others donate N1Bn for construction of Islamic University in Jigawa state.

Speaking on the occasion while laying the foundation of the unique varsity at Hadejia, the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Dr. Sa’ad Abubakar reminded political leaders to uphold their corporate responsibilities with the fear of God as leadership is a trust, as leaders will be accountable upon their stewardships before God in the here -after.

The proposed university is a brainchild of the Jama’atul Izalatul Bida’a Waikamatul Sunnah (JIBWIS).

Speaking through his representative, the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Sheikh Isa Ali Pantemi, President Muhammadu Buhari, ( GCFR) charged the leaders of the Izala sect to ensure that the curriculum of the proposed varsity should embrace functional learning, and character in line with the doctrines of Islamic code.

Also speaking, the National Chairman of the Izala sect, Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau stated the concept of flouting Islamic varsity in the country was to inculcate good moral virtues among the youths as leaders of tomorrow. Our aspiration was to project a viable institution that will excel in promoting solid academic  pursuit in learning and moral character to better our society, assuring the proposed university will not be restricted to only Muslim ummah but to the larger society.
