By: Osemwengie Ben Ogbemudia, Abuja

Motorists, Commuters and Residents of Ganaja Community by the River Niger, Kogi state are currently groaning under pains following the overflow of the river Bank.

The Lokoja / Abuja express way  by the Ganaja village is heavily over flooded due to the three hours downpour in that area.

According to Sebastine EBHUOMHAN, a journalist traveling from Benin said the road is blocked and vehicles can not access the particular spot.

He said houses are submerged, the villagers are in helpless situation, while calling on the National Emergency Management Agency to quickly to an action plan that will savage the situation.

As  at 12 noon today, Sebastine said no vehicle can pass through either coming from Abuja or going to Abuja. The situation, he said has resulted to a gridlock..

According to Sebastine, “What else can appropriately define the unaguable shame and pains citizens suffer when October rain divides and blocks the manageable parts of Federal highways left by potholes than corruption and failure of government?

” As at this afternoon, 12.00pm, motorists, commuters, residents and other road users are helplessly stranded and groaning on the impassable roads as they struggle with the flood that has divided Ganaja Road, Lokoja, and other roads in Kogi State, a problem a concrete barrier against the sea  could solve. Nigerians, what can we highlight as our achievements in 60 years of trial-and-error nationhood; where are we heading after 60 years as a people?
