Fuel Scarcity bites harder in Ondo, Task Force to the rescue

The current shortage of fuel supply nationwide is having a devastating effect in Ondo state, particularly Akure, the state capital, and other major towns.

Many sales outlets remain closed this morning to fuel buyers, especially motorists.

Our correspondent observed that few fuel stations dispensing the products were bombarded by customers.
It was a serious tug of war to secure the essential product because of the hectic situation of things at the few petrol stations in operation.

Already, many Independent marketers were using the present situation to hoard fuel and deliberately increased the pump price because of its scarcity

Most Workers, Students, Market Women, and Artisans were stranded because only few vehicles and motorcycles(Okada) were plying the roads.

The State Task Force on Petroleum team led by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties, Dr.Doyin Odebowale patrolled major streets in Akure, the state capital to monitor the situation.

Odebowale said there was no genuine reason for petrol dealers to hoard the commodity.

He maintained that the state government would not tolerate the unnecessary hardship for its citizenry because of the present fuel situation.

Many Motorists and Okada Operators lamented that some marketers shut their fuel stations with full stock in the daylight with the purpose of selling at nights to maximize profits.

They urged the State Task Force on Petroleum to monitor the activities of the Shylock fuel dealers.
