Gabon Coup: President Ali Bongo cries for help

The President of Gabon, Ali Bongo has called for international intervention over the recent coup in the country.
ThisNigeria reported that military officers overthrew President Bongo to end the Bongo family’s 56-year control of political power in the country.
Following the coup, the president, in a video released on Wednesday, pleaded for help as he is under house arrest by the military personnel.
He said “I am Ali Bongo, president of Gabon. I am sending a message to all the friends that we have all over the world to tell them to make noise.

“The people here have arrested me and my family. My son is somewhere and my wife is in another place while I am at the residence.
“I don’t know what is going on so I am calling you to make noise. I am thanking you.”
